About CrushGrind Denmark:
International Design Enterprise A/S was founded in 1991 by Ken Muff Lassen. Later the name was changed to IDEAS – an abbreviation of the original full name.
IDEAS Denmark A/S is an experienced Danish design company focusing on grinders and kitchen tools. IDEAS brought CrushGrind® to the market in 1994, as the world’s first ceramic grinder mechanism.
Today IDEAS are recognized as an experienced Danish design company focusing on spice grinders, kitchen tools and valued partnerships. They remain a family business, now run by Ken’s two sons and supply both finished grinders and mechanisms to allow woodturners to create their own.

About our CrushGrind range:
Carbatec currently have available for purchase the following CrushGrind mechanisms:
CrushGrind mill mechanisms are ceramic and have a 25-year warranty on the ceramic parts.

CrushGrind Diamond Wood Shaft in 3 shaft lengths – 195mm, 260mm & 470mm. The shaft length can also be modified by cutting to the desired length.
While these mills have a shaft a stopper fixture in the head of the grinder removes the need for an exposed nut so the top can be whatever shape you desire.

CrushGrind Diamond Wood is a shaftless grinder allowing additional flexibility in design whilst retaining the ceramic mechanism with full adjustment from coarse to fine grind.

CrushGrind Mini Shaft has a round shaft with twin grooves but is operated the same as all CrushGrind mills. Our Mini is 150mm shaft length but can be cut to desired length.
CrushGrind MakeEdge mechanism is a self-contained knife sharpening unit that is inserted into a 38mm diameter hole drilled into the side of a bread board. It pops out when required and then disappears back into the board when not in use.
