WEST SYSTEM Epoxy Resin - 1L **DG
Description
Due to the nature of this product it is considered a Dangerous Good for transport (Class 9. Environmentally Hazardous Substance).
WEST SYSTEM® 105 Epoxy Resin is the base material on which all WEST SYSTEM 105 System epoxy compounds are built, it is a clear to pale yellow, low viscosity liquid epoxy resin.
Formulated for use with WEST SYSTEM hardeners, it can be cured in a wide range of temperatures to form a high-strength solid with excellent moisture resistance.
105 Resin is formulated without volatile solvents and will not shrink after curing. It has a relatively high flash point and no strong solvent odour, making it safer to work with than polyesters.
105 Resin is designed specifically to wet out and bond with wood fibre, fiberglass, reinforcing fabrics and a variety of metals when mixed at the proper ratio with a WEST SYSTEM hardener. As an adhesive, 105 mixtures will bridge gaps and fill voids when mixed with WEST SYSTEM fillers and can be sanded and shaped when cured.
* When used with Fast Hardener 205, or Slow Hardener 206, the ratio is 5 parts resin to 1 part hardener.
* When used with the Clear 207 hardener, the ratio is 3 parts resin to 1 part hardener.

Whilst NZ Post would carry the Epoxy Resin (105) the Hardeners are Class 8 - corrosive, and can only be transported by ChemCouriers and we anticipate that orders for Epoxy and Hardener will be shipped together with ChemCouriers.
To manage these freight costs, we are working with our resin supplier to implement a drop shipment system direct from the supplier with their better freight rates, but we do recognise that the costs remain substantial.

If you wish to ship just the Epoxy Resin (105) with NZ Post:
Shipping dangerous goods requires additional, specific packaging to minimise the risk of damage and to ensure the products will not leak. There are also specific labels and paperwork required to be provided from Carbatec to the Couriers and then special handling may be required by the couriers.
This additional work results in a surcharge of $14.50 per courier pack.
The freight cost can be calculated by adding the surcharge to the standard freight charge to your address (rural addresses will also attract a RD surcharge as normal).
Additional processing times advised by NZ Post for Dangerous Goods of 1-5 additional days for Economy items as staff need to check that parcels comply with NZ Post requirements to be transported.
The additional processing period within the North or South Island is 1-2 days (which may be extended to 2-3 days as required), and 3-4 days between islands (due to extra requirements for items travelling on interisland ferries).
Please phone for a quote on freight costs.
