Veritas® Blades made for Stanley/Record Block Planes - 41mm with 7/16" slot
Description
Veritas Code 05P31.67
Like for the bench planes, Veritas has also thought of users who own Stanley Block Planes, providing a range of blades in various grades of steel.
Block plane blades are 3.18mm (1/8") thick with a 25° bevel, with the grooves in the blades being for the rear depth-adjust mechanism.
Check the width to determine the right blade for your plane, it is either 35mm (1-3/8") low-angle, 60-1/2 style or 41mm (1-5/8") standard 9-1/2 style.
- Later British made Stanley planes have a lateral adjust lever and require a 15.8mm (5/8") slot (3 grooves). This blade.
- Planes with no lateral adjust lever (older American Stanley block planes) require an 11.1mm (7/16") slot (8 grooves). This Blade.
This blade is made of Veritas PM-V11 tool steel. A premium blade material, PM-V11 tool steel (Rc61-63) has a unique composition that allows it to take a keen edge that is highly resistant to impact and wear, yet is as easy to sharpen as A2 steel using water stones or other common sharpening media
Made in Canada.
