Tungsten Carbide Forstner Style Bit -
Tungsten Carbide tips stay sharp longer than HSS as they resist wear. They are less likely to heat up during use and run at higher speeds than traditionally recommended for HSS bits. The speed obviously depends on the hardness of the wood - slower speeds are better with harder woods to avoid scorching but speeds between 1500 and 2000 rpm can be used on softer woods while achieving a good, clean cut.
This set contains the 4 diameter bits required to make the CrushGrind Mini Shaft grinder - 19mm for the top stopper, 28mm for the cavity, 32mm for the grinding mechanism and 38mm for the opening at the base of the grinder.
These self centering woodworking Forstner bits are carbide tipped to cut cleanly through end grain making them perfect for pepper and salt mills.
The shaft diameter for the 19mm and 28mm bits are 8mm and for the 32mm and 38mm it is 10mm.
Both will fit in the Forstner Bit Extension (EXTN-1) to extend the depth of drilling by 160mm.
