Bare Wood Projects

Let the beauty of the wood grain show through! Although luster varies from one piece of wood to the next, surface treatment effects it significantly! To obtain the smoothest, richest finish possible use the Micro-Mesh™ Regular series. Oil the wood to preserve your finish and protect the wood. Lemon and Danish oils work well. With the wonderful selection of grades Micro-Mesh™ offers you can obtain not only high gloss finishes, but also custom levels of matte and satin finishes.

Building Layers – Rubbing out Top Coats

Micro-Mesh™ replaces the use of a messy pumice and rottenstone process. Use Micro-Mesh™ between coats to remove dust and contamination as well for polishing out the top coat. With Micro-Mesh™ you will have complete control over the amount of sheen and gloss you decide you need on a particular project, opening up all kinds of possibilities!

Restorative Applications

Micro-Mesh™ works wonders to remove “burn ins”, scratches and stains. The generous numbers of grades give you more control in your ability to match damaged areas to the original finish. You’ll never want to do a repair without it!

This kit is designed for craftsmen to replace the use of steel wool, rottenstone, or pumice. May be used on bare or finished wood, an excellent way to spot match finishes. Can be used wet or dry to achieve matte, satin, or high gloss finishes.

Note: Micro-Mesh Regular abrasives are recommended for softer woods such as pine, cedar, spruce & larch. They will work on hard woods but require more effort.
Micro-Mesh MX abrasives are recommended for harder woods such as oak, ash, cherry, diamond wood, maple and poplar - MX abrasive cuts faster so you work less on harder woods.
